Bostic is the sixth recipient of the award and was honored among community champions during the Chamber’s 31st Annual Awards on Nov. 10
(INDIANAPOLIS, Nov. 10, 2020) — Brad Bostic, founder, chairman and CEO of hc1, the leader in critical insight, analytics, and solutions for precision health, has been named as the 2020 Indiana Wesleyan University Dynamic Leader of the Year. Presented by Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield®, Bostic was honored on Nov. 10, 2020 for his outstanding achievements using cloud technology and real-time data to transform the healthcare industry during a virtual gathering of business, government and community leaders as part of the Indiana Chamber’s 31st Annual Awards.
Throughout his career, Bostic has focused on funding, creating and leading high-growth, cloud-based healthcare companies in Indiana. In the throes of a global pandemic, Bostic and his team at hc1 pivoted to provide crucial data insights about COVID-19 infection rates in a dashboard released in April 2020. The CV19 Lab Testing Dashboard™ spurred healthcare giant Eli Lilly to partner with hc1 on providing data insights gleaned from drive-through testing sites held in Central Indiana in April and May. The Lilly COVID-19 Drive-Through Testing Dashboard unlocked previously unknown data about rates of infection in essential worker populations.
“Brad is a pioneer in Indiana’s technology industry, but it is his passion for healthcare and his belief that every patient is an individual that makes him a natural choice for this award,” said Kevin Brinegar, Indiana Chamber president and CEO. “He saw a drastic need locally and nationally for timely testing results and predictions of risk. He knew hc1 could solve them with the company’s access to laboratory data and the key partnerships he’d built during his career. His work with hc1 for COVID-19 exemplified a dynamic ability to solve challenges for state officials, business leaders, healthcare workers, even parents sending children back to school.”
As part of the hc1 High-Value Care Platform®, the bioinformatics leader uses layers of advanced technology in a singular system to integrate, normalize and enhance siloed data from multiple sources. Supplying real-time data insights in its services such as hc1 Workforce Advisor™ and hc1 PGx Advisor® — which secured a Mira Award win earlier this year — equips users with a multitude of information that enables them to make crucial decisions, ultimately saving doctors, patients and insurance systems valuable resources and financial investments. hc1 Workforce Advisor™ was released in May 2020 and showcased Bostic and hc1’s ability to dynamically address the health and safety of in-person activities for universities and major national businesses during an unprecedented pandemic.
Under Bostic’s leadership, hc1 has enabled more than 1,000 health systems and healthcare organizations to transform business and clinical data into actionable insights, delivering high-value, personalized care to more than 160 million individual patients.
“It is truly an honor to be chosen as the Indiana Chamber’s ‘Dynamic Leader of the Year’ and I am humbled to be included among such a distinguished group of our state’s business leaders,” said Bostic. “Replacing one-size-fits-all, trial-and-error healthcare with precision health for all is critically important. Our mission is to make sure every patient receives an accurate diagnosis and medications that are tailored to their unique individual genetic traits. Through this unique approach, we are saving lives, saving money and significantly improving healthcare.”
In addition to hc1, Bostic holds multiple board and leadership positions with several Indiana-based organizations, including; Eskenazi Health Foundation; TechPoint; Health Cloud Capital; and Novus Capital Corporation. He is the sixth recipient of the Chamber’s Dynamic Leader of the Year award and joins a cohort of past winners, including: John Thompson (Thompson Distribution); Jim Hallett (KAR Auction Services); Scott McCorkle (Torchlite Marketing and Vibenomics); Matt MacBeth & Don Inmon (pi lab); and Dustin Sapp (Tinderbox).
